430ex II not working with rechargeable batteries?
LadyK asked:
My Canon 430exII will not work with either Energizer or Duracell rechargeable batteries. I bought the batteries brand new so I know it is not because they are old, worn-out or not charged. I’ve charged them both through a regular outlet and through a monster power charger (for a clean charge). The batteries work in other items but not in my flash. It worked ONCE with the Energizers and then one day, it didn’t (no function on the LCD). The flash works when I put in regular batteries.

Any ideas?

Two things that I can think of. Either you’re putting the batteries in wrong or the flash is defective. I’ve read so many people putting rechargeables in the 430EX that I’m pretty sure they are fine. I myself use Eneloops.
Make certain that your batteries are fully charged, straight off the charger and not sitting around for a week. Rechargeables are notorious for losing their charge in a very short period of time.
