Sus asked:
I know that nimh batteries can be used in the place of alkaline batteries, but does the reverse work? I have a wireless mouse that runs on two AAA nimh batteries, but only have AAA alkaline batteries right now. Can I use the alkaline batteries?
i don’t see why not, as long as the ampere draw on the mouse does not exceed the max rating on the batteries. there shouldn’t be that much difference in voltage. just dont recharge it or it could explode
Sure can. Just be aware if your mouse, or any other device is designed to recharge the batteries automatically. For example a handset-cordless home phone. The one I have uses two AA nimh batteries. When I put the handset on its cradle, it automatically starts to charge. If I put alkaline batts in it, all kinds of unpleasant things could happen.
