This is very serious. My boss THINKS her toddler swallowed a lithium battery. Is this dangerous?

kathys01 asked:

Should she have an x-ray, if in fact it is safe to x-ray if you suspect a battery? What if she doesn’t “pass”it and it leaks? My boss thinks this is somehow amusing, but I am somewhat older than she, and I think she should have this checked.

Anytime a toddler eats something they shouldn’t, a trip to the ER is warranted. Go now.

Call Poison Control and ask. If you don’t know the number, dial 911 and they will connect you.

First off the toddler needs to go to the ER, Lithium is a poisonous chemical that oftens produces a cellular disturbances in the central nervous system, kidneys, and GI tract. Causing nausea, vomiting, confusion, coma, and death. With this said your boss needs to take her child to the ER, where they will give the toddler a couple doses of charcoal before it’s too late.
